I've owned the
NewAir AW-280E NewAir Thermoelectric Wine Cooler 
for three months now, and for the price, it has performed reasonably well - until now. When you add together the price and shipping, you probably will not be able to cheaply
Thermoelectric Wine Cooler to find storage. (I consider the non-vibrating element thermoelectric refrigerators as an important prerequisite for long term cellaring wine.) However, some are certainly missing and a very large question mark over the long-term performance.
Since my wine collection grew, I bought some
Thermoelectric Wine Cooler from different manufacturers. Of the four I now own wine fridges, cheap, the look and feel. Yes, it is very attractive from a distance, but if you are very close, it seems that every aspect of building communication only slightly (or many) flimsier than my other refrigerators. For example, find the material used for the walls in the refrigerator and feels like a very thin plastic that can easily be ripped or punctured. (Plastic film is similar in weight and thickness of the thin plastic often used for small electronics packagaing accessories such as headphones or video cables.) The inner plastic liner to keep on the wall, but probably fine if handled smoothly, but it seems a hint of overall quality.
The chrome plates that hold the bottles only slightly thinner, lighter and flimsier than my other wine refrigerators. Speaking of the trays, a tray full of bottles, you are supposed to be learned from a few inches for easier access to the bottle and a better perspective on the label to get. But can not the trays in the refrigerator smoothly when loaded with wine. Instead they get a setback and hung up. In fact, I am afraid that the force required to separate with and pulling a tray of bottles from the bottle could cause to come flying to the floor or that could tear the thin plastic that lines the walls in the refrigerator. So to a safe place, first the bottles, which the intended target by half to slip trays for easy viewing and access defeats.
Soft and cautious, you can probably avoid problems with the physical construction of the small refrigerator, but the thing that concerns me most about this for the long term resilience refrigerator thermoelectric cooling device. The refrigerator sits side by side
Refrigerator I myself was made by another manufacturer and is exactly the same storage capacity. Compared with other manufacturer starts with a refrigerator, the refrigerator chilled AW's machine and run more frequently and - probably more than twice as long - to maintain the same temperature. With the temperature set at 55 degrees, this refrigerator is almost non-stop cooling system shutdown for no more than a few minutes before kicking back in for another long stretch, and that's what makes me worry about sustainability in the long term. Because of my concern over the cooling is always active, I raised the seat temperature is 55-58 degrees, and that seems to help somewhat, but the refrigerator thermoelectric cooling is not many out frequently and much longer than the site at 58 degrees other thermoelectric cooling is the same size on my 55. It only makes sense more often the beginning of the cooling device, and it runs longer, the shorter will work on their lifespan.
A final word to the wise: For those just starting to understand the pleasures and benefits of cellaring your wine, perhaps it makes little sense to cheap "starter" unit until you decide to buy your wine or temporary bug infection manageable disease, or lifelong obsession. But before doing as I did - buy half, then the third, fourth small refrigerator - to consider the money you would a bunch of small refrigerators and substitution pay the cost of one U.S. dollar in a higher quality, higher capacity units to solve your wine storage needs in the long term. Better yet, 25 or 30 cubic feet of space to get under the stairs or in the closet of your home, a wall, put on the shelves, subtraction, and a cooling unit refrigerator buy, make your own mini-site basement You can easily save hundreds of bottles.
The Bottom Line: This seems a refrigerator is fair for the price, but if I had more to do, I guess I better off spending a long breath, but a bit more for more likely the same fixed fridge size (you can get on sale for not much more), or the money in the refrigerator for more than cellaring system that would better meet their needs, present and future wine storage.
